Treat Tuesday-Cinnamon Swirl Bread
Your Christmas morning table needs this bread! This recipe makes two loaves and tastes better than any store bought bread and once it is lightly toasted with a smear of butter, your kitchen will smell like cinnamon! You can even make this bread in advance, freeze it, and then pull it out on Christmas Eve to be ready the morning after the big man comes 🎅.
Start with flour and sugar, yeast, butter and milk in a stand mixer.
Using a dough hook, mix until the dough turns into a ball.
Place the ball in an oiled bowl and let rise.
The dough will double in size, then punch it down.
Next make an egg wash with one large egg and two Tablespoons of milk.
On a lightly floured pastry mat, roll the dough into an 8″ x 16″ rectangle.
Brush the egg wash on the dough then sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
Roll the dough tightly and place in an oiled loaf pan.
Let rise for about one hour.
Finally, brush the tops of the loaves with the remaining egg wash and bake for about 35 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool for 30 minutes before slicing.
This is Christmas cheer on a plate.
