Treat Tuesday-Double-Chocolate Biscotti

I love biscotti with my coffee, but too many recipes have way to many nuts or dried fruit pieces in them for my liking. Double-Chocolate Biscotti is a great treat to dip in a mug of coffee or hot tea, or let soak for a minute in a glass of milk. It is perfectly crunchy with a nice chocolatey flavor.

Start with some flour, cocoa powder, and mini semisweet chocolate chips.

In another bowl, whisk vanilla extract, 2 eggs, and one egg white.

Add the flour mixture to the eggs and stir with a spoon until the dough comes together. This will take significant elbow grease!

Divide the dough in half on a cookie sheet and shape into two logs about 12″ long.

The dough will bake for 22 minutes and cool for 10 minutes before you can slice them. The slices will then return to the oven for an additional 15 minutes to firm them up.

Remove to a wire rack and cool completely.

Dessert for breakfast…done!
