Treat Tuesday-Chocolate Torte
This cake is perfect if you are a chocolate lover. It is rich and so moist that it is practically creamy. If you are needing a dessert for a luncheon or a birthday, this is a quick and easy torte that tastes like you spent hours in the kitchen.
Start with some sifted cocoa powder and sugar.
Add chopped bittersweet chocolate.
Pour in some boiling water to melt the chocolate and then add egg yolks and vanilla.
Beat egg whites into stiff peaks with granulated sugar.
Fold the egg white mixture into the chocolate and pour into a springform pan.
The torte bakes for about 25 minutes then cools slightly you before remove the sides of the of the springform pan. The top of the cake will crack ever so slightly.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar once completely cooled. This will not last long, so pour a cup of tea or milk and enjoy the week!
