Treat Tuesday-Apple Cake Cobbler

It’s fall and that means football season! If you have a large group coming over to watch the game, this is a great dessert for feeding a crowd!!

Start by making the delicious crumb topping. Add flour, granulated and brown sugars, cinnamon, and a dash of salt to the food processor with cold, cubed butter.

Pulse until the mixture resembles large crumbs.

While the oven is preheating, add the pan with a stick of butter to let the butter melt and slightly brown.

Then dice up three pounds of peeled, Granny Smith apples.

Add brown sugar to the apples, tossing to coat well.

Add the apples to the browned butter in the pan and bake until the apples are slightly soft, about 15 minutes.

Now make the cake batter, mixing the brown sugar, flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, cinnamon and salt. Finally add milk, buttermilk, and vanilla extract. Pour over the apples and add the crumb topping.

Bake for one hour. Let cool slightly and serve with ice cream. Smoke some barbecue and serve this cobbler cake for the grand finale!
