Treat Tuesday-Chocolate Cupcakes with Bourbon Frosting
We received a very nice bottle of bourbon for Christmas and I discovered that I do not care to drink bourbon, I am more of a whiskey girl. However, bourbon in baked goods is amazing! I was reading through the cookbook The Pretty Dish and found this perfect recipe.
Cupcakes are so much fun to make and you don’t have to do anything to the pan other than drop in the cupcake liners.
The dry ingredients include flour and cocoa.
This gets mixed with sugar, an egg, some vegetable oil, and melted butter.
These cupcakes turn out wonderfully moist due to this fabulous batter.
But wait, more chocolate is needed! Mini semi-sweet chocolate chips.
The batter is spooned into the cupcake liners, and it is the perfect amount for one dozen of these little gems.
Bake for about 20 minutes and then let cool completely. Just look at the chocolate chips!
Now for the frosting. Butter and cream cheese are blended with powdered sugar.
Bourbon is the secret ingredient and it elevates this frosting to another dimension.
Don’t you just want to dive into this platter?!
