Wine of the Week-Smith & Hook Cabernet Sauvignon
Cooler weather just begs for a cozy blanket and a nice glass of Cabernet. This 2012 California wine is excellent with a bowl of chili or a t-bone steak. It is juicy with a slight taste of tannins (which I personally love). Sidebar: “tannin” is a reddish acid that comes from plants and is used in clarifying wine. It took me awhile to identify what that tasted like. Best way I can describe it is the more tannins, the less sweet a wine is. I can’t do sweet wines…at all. I am sure there is a sommelier out there that would disagree with my description of this wine but if you like a more full bodied, yummy wine, you will like Smith & Hook!
A faithful follower of this blog and a fellow wine connoisseur gave me this fun autumn wine stopper to show off in “Wine of the Week”. Cheers!
