Treat Tuesday-Yellow Cupcakes with Chocolate Frosting
I have a confession to make. I have a soon to be high school graduate in the house and I am beyond excited!! I never understood all the hype and hoopla but now I get it so everything I do for the next month will probably revolve around this big event. For this Tuesday, I decided some cupcakes were in order to celebrate!
This recipe is an old standby in our house for little kid birthday parties (sniff). There is buttermilk in the batter that makes for a wonderfully moist cake.
Once these cool, it’s time for the chocolate frosting. It’s simply chocolate chips, butter, and milk melted and some powdered sugar and vanilla mixed in and whipped until thick and spreadable.
Now for the personalization. As you know, I’m not much of a decorator, but I ran across this great icing pen at Williams-Sonoma. While I might not win Cupcake Wars, I thought these turned out rather festive.
All that is missing is a glass of milk…oh and a cap and gown!
