Treat Tuesday-Pumpkin Bread
This pumpkin bread is super quick to make and it yields two loaves so you could put one in the freezer for Thanksgiving morning if you want to be planning ahead! You get great pumpkin and spice flavor in this bread that could be for breakfast, dessert, or just a fabulous snack.
You know it’s a good old-time recipe when it starts with a little bit of shortening that is mixed with granulated sugar…then the eggs are whipped in.
Next Pumpkin is added to make the batter, along with a little water. The flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and cloves are mixed together then slowly added in to the pumpkin mixture. Let your mixer do all the work!
Finally, pour the batter into two greased and floured loaf pans (I love to use PAM Baking spray for this).
Bake for one hour, or until a wooden pick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Let the loaves cool for 5 minutes on a wire rack, before turning them out to cool completely. Perfect slices of pumpkin goodness!
