Treat Tuesday-Outrageous Brownies
It was one of those days. Chocolate was needed. When I came across this recipe I knew it would meet the need. This is brownie/fudge/brownie…not to be confused with a “fudgey” brownie.
You start with chocolate. A lot of it. Chocolate chips and unsweetened chocolate melting with butter.
The chocolate mixture is then added to eggs, sugar, instant coffee ( I use the Starbucks Via packets) and vanilla. You get this wonderfully thick batter that smells great even in this raw form.
Next is the addition of sifted flour, baking powder, and salt.
For the final touch to the batter…more chocolate! Chocolate chips are mixed with flour to keep them from sinking to the bottom of the bowl and stirred into the batter.
You pour it all out onto a large baking sheet and bake just until a wooden pick inserted into the center comes out clean, not a minute more!
Let the pan cool completely then refrigerate. Once they are firm, cut into squares.
These brownies make me feel a little piggy.
