Treat Tuesday-Cookies for Santa
I started taking out all my Christmas boxes to decorate this week. My Christmas tree cookie jar was unboxed and looked really sad without any cookies inside! So amid decking the halls and fighting with the Christmas lights, I knew I needed to make some treats fast.
My first inclination was to hit the bottle…for Rum Balls of course! A few key ingredients mixed in a bowl, no cooking required!
Crush a box of Nilla Wafers in the food processor then stir remaining ingredients in a large bowl until you have a nice soft, chocolately, boozy, dough!
Form dough into small balls and roll in powdered sugar. It’s so easy to pop one (or two) in your mouth for a taste of Christmas!
My sister and I used to love to hit the Christmas Tree cookie jar when we were kids and sneak a rum ball, however my boys are not fans of this confection. So to make sure everyone can find something in the tree, I had to make a staple in Christmas cookies…Peanut Butter Kiss Cookies
You know the ones, three ingredients for the dough, some chocolate kisses, and 10 minutes in the oven.
Jif Creamy is my preference. Note the “Family Size” on the chocolate kiss bag!
Roll into balls, bake and gently press the chocolate kiss into the cookie when it comes out of the oven.
Now my cookie jar is full…if only I could decorate the tree this quick!
