Treat Tuesday-Classic Pound Cake

It’s time to tailgate!!  Football has finally begun, and as you are packing up the burgers and dogs, don’t forget dessert.  This cake is easy to slice and package when you are heading out to the game.

When my family walked in the door and saw this treat, they complained.  How could I make bread for a treat (as if that would be terrible?!)  While this may look like an old loaf of bread, this is actually the best pound cake ever.

One of the keys is beating the batter until it is nice and fluffy.  Start with room temperature butter and sugar.  The batter takes on the consistency of whipped cream!

Add the eggs slowly.

The dry ingredients are sifted then folded into the batter.

Pour into a loaf pan and bake.  Your kitchen is going to start smelling amazing.

After the cake has cooled, slice and serve.  Great with berries or whip cream, but we ate this whole loaf just by itself.
