Treat Tuesday-Chocolate Cookie Ice Cream
Ice Cream screams summer and with Labor Day around the corner this is the perfect cold treat for your Labor Day picnic. This is a no-bake recipe that you simply mix, chill, and pour into an ice cream maker.
Start with a pitcher. I love this one. It is Tupperware from way back in the day and while I have very few pieces of true Tupperware left, this is a staple that I use to mix cake and pancake batter.
Add in whole milk. You can certainly use 2% if that is all you have.
Next, Hershey’s syrup. I would consider this the key ingredient over the cookies!
A few Tablespoons of sugar.
Then mix all ingredients with a hand mixer.
Heavy whipping cream (NOT Cool Whip!) rounds out the ingredients for the ice cream mix. Place in the refrigerator until well chilled.
For the cookies, I used Double Stuf Oreos. Personally I prefer the regular ones, but I am outvoted in this house, so Double Stuf it is.
Rough chop until you have a cup, about 9-10 Oreos.
Pour into your ice cream maker and let the magic begin. As the ice cream begins to firm up, add the chopped cookies and let mix until done.
I really think this rivals any store bought chocolate cookie ice cream.
We are going to need another batch for our holiday weekend!
