Treat Tuesday-Applesauce Bread

This bread will fill your kitchen with the wonderful smell of apples and cinnamon. You won’t need to peel or core the apples!! Applesauce Bread is great for an after school snack, dessert, or as a breakfast bread. Keep this recipe handy during the holidays as you can make and freeze a couple of loaves and thaw it out when you have company coming.

Start by combining the oats, flour, baking soda, cinnamon, salt, and baking powder.

Next mix together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

Add the eggs in one at a time, beating well after each addition.

Add in the oat mixture alternately with the applesauce, mixing well after each addition. Pour the batter into a loaf pan.

Combine the remaining sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over the top of the batter.

Bake until a wooden pick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Cool completely on a wire rack then slice or wrap up in plastic wrap and foil to freeze.
