Treat Tuesday-Halloween Bars
It’s officially October and I know I have been talking about diving into my pumpkin recipes but my sweet tooth got the best of me and all I could think about today was Halloween candy! This recipe makes a homemade candy bar that is so easy, I would hesitate to classify this as “baking”.
Peanut butter chips and semi-sweet chocolate chips give these bars a fun Halloween look. Sometimes you can find a Halloween-mix bag of chocolate chips in orange and black that is festive to use, but when I was the the store all I could find were pumpkin spice chips. That seemed way too weird even for me, the lover of all things pumpkin!
Crush up graham crackers in the food processor (don’t use the box crumbs, just don’t!) and place a stick of butter in a pan in the oven to melt. Don’t be abhorred about a stick of butter, remember, we are making candy bars!!
Now the assembly begins. Sprinkle the graham crackers on top of the melted butter. Then drizzle a can of sweetened condensed milk on top of the crumbs.
Now add the chocolate chips
Alternate with the peanut butter chips and then gently press them into the condensed milk.
Bake, cool, and cut into bars.
Pour a glass of milk and treat yourself today.
