Wine of the Week-Waters Chardonnay
Waters Chardonnay may be difficult for some of you to find if you are not in the great city of Fort Worth, Texas. Waters is a seafood restaurant owned by Chef Jon Bonnell in downtown Fort Worth. When all of our restaurants had to move to curbside recently, Chef Bonnell quickly created family style meals that he offered nightly at two of his restaurants, Waters and Bonnell’s Fine Texas Cuisine. His meals (generous portions, reasonably priced!) became a highlight during our shelter-in-place days. The demand for his food was so great, the cars would start lining up an hour to an hour and a half before opening!! It was so fun to look each morning on Facebook to see what the offerings would be that day. I share all of this with you because that is how I was able to buy bottles of the Waters Chardonnay, with the nightly curbside offerings.
Waters is truly one of my favorite whites, it is a wonderfully crisp and refreshing wine, perfect for warm summer nights. Chef Bonnell did a great job working to create this 2016 Sonoma Chardonnay with Sanglier Cellars. If you are local and you read this post in time, drive through his curbside this afternoon and pick up a bottle, it’s Shrimp and Sausage Jambalaya night!
