Turkish Coffee Brownies

December completely got away from me, I really need to plan ahead but I was too busy enjoying the season! Now that a winter storm is upon us, I really have the desire to spend some quality time baking!! I’m revisiting a recipe that a dear friend brought over for a secret ingredient party I held years ago. It caught my eye when I wrote, “best served with a warm mug of coffee or tea”. These are super easy to make and great to enjoy the whole weekend while snuggling by the fire.

Start by melting chocolate and butter in a double boiler, stirring until smooth.

Add three eggs to a mixing bowl.

Next whisk in granulated sugar.

Add in some instant espresso powder. I like to use these little Starbucks Via Packets.

Cardamom and vanilla with a dash of salt round out the spices.

Finally add in the melted chocolate mixture and some flour.

Pour into a prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes. Let cool, then cut into squares.

There is a good chance it could be Treat Tuesday all weekend!
