Marinara Sauce – #1
This pasta sauce is great with Baked Ziti or over your favorite pasta.
Ingredients
- ½ onion finely chopped
- 1 clove garlic minced
- 1 Tablespoon olive oil
- 2 28 oz. cans Italian plum tomatoes with basil chopped in the food processor
- 2 Tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 1 Tablespoon dried Italian seasoning
- 2 bay leaves
Instructions
- Place onion in a dutch oven over medium heat with olive oil and cook until onions are translucent.
- Add the garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
- Add tomatoes, lemons juice, Italian seasoning, and bay leaves.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cooking for 30 minutes. Discard bay leaves and serve sauce over pasta.
