Cheese Baked Penne Pasta
This pasta is super easy to make on busy weeknights.
Ingredients
- 8 oz. uncooked penne pasta
- 2 4 oz. links sweet Italian turkey sausage
- 1 cup red pepper chopped
- ⅛ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 ½ teaspoons dried Italian seasoning
- 10 grape or cherry tomatoes halved
- 1 garlic clove minced
- 1 8oz. can herb tomato sauce
- 1 ¼ cups mozzarella cheese shredded
- ¼ cup fresh parmesan cheese grated
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°.
- Cook pasta according to package directions.
- Heat a large non-stick skillet over medium high heat.
- Remove the casings from the sausages. Add sausage to pan, stirring to crumble.
- Add red pepper, black pepper, Italian seasoning, tomatoes and garlic, stirring until pepper is tender.
- Stir in tomato sauce. Simmer 5 minutes.
- Add cooked pasta to pan, tossing gently to coat.
- Spoon pasta mixture into an 8" square baking dish coated with cooking spray.
- Stir in mozzarella and sprinkle parmesan on top.
- Bake at 350° for 7 minutes or until bubbling and brown.
