Gingerbread 2
I have a few favorite Gingerbread recipes. I love this one because of all the spices!Plan Ahead Note: the butter needs to be softened to room temperature.
Ingredients
- ⅓ cup granulated sugar
- ¼ cup unsalted butter softened
- ⅓ cup molasses
- 1 egg
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ¼ teaspoon freshly ground nutmeg
- ⅛ teaspoon salt
- ⅛ teaspoon ground cloves
- ⅔ cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°.
- Beat granulated sugar and butter at medium speed of an electric mixer for 5 minutes.
- Add molasses and egg, beating well.
- Combine flour, ginger, baking soda, nutmeg, salt, and cloves in a bowl. Add alternately with milk, beginning and ending with flour mixture.
- Pour into an 8" greased square baking dish. Bake at 350° for 30-35 minutes. Cool.
