Overnight French Toast

With a little prep the night before, you can have a super easy and quite tasty breakfast.  You may have to overlap the bread in the pan, just make sure all slices get the egg mixture.

Ingredients
  

  • 10 slices sourdough bread (a day or two old bread is great)
  • ¼ cup butter softened
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 Tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method
 

  1. Spread butter evenly over the tops of all bread slices. 
     
  2. Place bread in a 13" x 9" glass baking pan.
  3. Mix together eggs, milk, syrup, and vanilla.  Pour over bread, making sure all pieces are coated.
  4. Cover and chill overnight.
  5. Preheat oven to 350°.
  6. Place bread slices on a silicone mat on two cookie sheets and bake at 350° for 45 minutes.
