Cranberry Sauce

This is a snap to make and tastes wonderful with turkey. Make this the night before. Don’t buy canned, just don’t.

12 oz. package fresh cranberries
1 Granny Smith apple, peeled and diced
1 3/4 cups water
1 1/4 cups sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon cloves

Pour the cranberries into a strainer. Rinse. Discard mushy berries.
In a saucepan over medium heat, mix all ingredients together and bring to a boil.
Reduce heat to low and simmer until thickened and all the cranberries have burst, about 25-30 minutes.  Cool and refrigerate until ready to serve.
