Turkey Parmesan Sliders

This is a great twist on a traditional slider, but don’t use the extra lean turkey breast or the sliders will be too dry.  These little burgers cook quickly but don’t skip the broiler, it finishes these off perfectly.


2 teaspoons olive oil
1 cup chopped onion
1 1/2 Tablespoons chopped fresh oregano, or 2 teaspoons dried oregano
3 garlic cloves, minced
2 lb. ground turkey breast
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
3/4 cup jarred marinara sauce
salt and pepper
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper
2 packages slider buns
1 cup shredded mozzarella

Heat a medium skillet over medium heat.  Add oil to pan and swirl to coat.  Add onion, oregano, and garlic; sauté for 3 minutes or until onion is soft.  Place onion in a bowl and let cool slightly.  Add turkey, Parmesan, marinara, salt, pepper, and red pepper.  Mix well and shape into 16 patties.  Grill over medium heat 6-7 minutes a side or until cooked through.  On a baking sheet, place the bottom of the slider rolls.  Add a turkey burger, a Tablespoon of marinara, and some shredded mozzarella.  Place the tops of the rolls next to the burger.  Broil for 1-2 minutes or until cheese melts.

Yield: 18 sliders
