Marinara Sauce – #2
This pasta is perfect on freshly made noodles. Most grocery stores now offer them in the refrigerator section and they take half the time to cook as boxed noodles.
Ingredients
- 1 Tablespoon olive oil
- 1 onion finely chopped
- 1 clove garlic minced
- ¾ cup dry red wine
- 2 teaspoons dried basil
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper
- 1 28 oz. can crushed tomatoes
- 1 6oz. can tomato paste
Instructions
- In a dutch oven, heat oil over medium heat.
- Add chopped onion and cook until translucent.
- Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
- Add wine, basil, salt, red pepper, tomatoes, and tomato paste.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium low and cook for 30 minutes. Serve over pasta.
