Peanut Butter Chocolate Cookies

These cookies are a great after school snack. If you don't have time house a pastry bag to pipe the frosting, grab a spoon and drizzle over each cookie. Place wax paper under your cookie rack and clean up will be a snap.

Ingredients
  

Cookies

  • 1 ½ cups flour
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup creamy peanut butter
  • 2 Tablespoons butter softened
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla

Peanut Butter Icing

  • ¾ cup powdered sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons milk
  • 1 Tablespoon whipping cream
  • 3 Tablespoons peanut butter

Chocolate Icing

  • ¼ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ¾ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 ½ Tablespoons milk
  • 1 Tablespoon whipping cream
  • 1 teaspoon unsweetened cocoa sifted

Instructions
 

Cookies

  • Preheat oven to 375°.
  • Combine sugar, peanut butter, and butter in a large bowl.  Mix with an electric mixer for 2 minutes.        
  • Add milk.  Mix well.
  • Add eggs and vanilla, beat well.
  • Add flour, baking powder, and salt, mixing until well blended.
  • Drop dough by teaspoonfuls onto a silicone mat on a cookie sheet.
  • Bake at 375° for 11 minutes.
  • Let stand on pan for one minute, then remove to wire rack to cool.  Frost with peanut butter icing and chocolate icing.

To Make Peanut Butter Icing

  • Whisk and place in pastry bag to pipe on cookies.

To Make Chocolate Icing

  • Melt chocolate chips over low heat. Whisk in remaining ingredients, place in pastry bag to pipe on cookies.
