Apple Cake Cobbler
This recipe is excellent for serving a crowd. If you are having a large group over to watch the big game, throw this is the oven right before they arrive and serve slightly warm with a big scoop of ice cream on top.

Ingredients
Crumb Topping

unsalted butter

apples
peeled and cut into ¾" cubes

firmly packed brown sugar

all-purpose flour

granulated sugar

baking powder

ground cinnamon

teaspoon

milk
¼
cup
buttermilk
2
teaspoons
vanilla extract
vanilla ice cream
Instructions
Crumb Topping
Pulse first 5 ingredients in a food processor until combined.
Add butter, and pulse 5 to 7 times or until mixture resembles small peas.
Transfer mixture to a small bowl. Stir in oats with a spoon until mixture is crumbly. Chill until ready to use.
Apple Cake Cobbler
Preheat oven to 375°.
Melt butter in a 13" x 9" baking dish while oven preheats. Let butter brown but not burn.
Combine apples and brown sugar, tossing to coat. Spoon into baking dish.
Bake for 15 minutes or until apples begin to soften and release juices.
Whisk together flour and next 4 ingredients in a large bowl.
Add milk, buttermilk, and vanilla, whisking until smooth.
Pour batter over apples in baking dish.
Sprinkle with crumb topping.
Bake for 1 hour to 1 hour 10 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Let stand for 15 minutes. Serve warm with ice cream.
