Marinara Sauce - #2
This pasta is perfect on freshly made noodles. Most grocery stores now offer them in the refrigerator section and they take half the time to cook as boxed noodles.
- 1 Tablespoon olive oil
- 1 onion finely chopped
- 1 clove garlic minced
- ¾ cup dry red wine
- 2 teaspoons dried basil
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper
- 1 28 oz. can crushed tomatoes
- 1 6oz. can tomato paste
In a dutch oven, heat oil over medium heat.
Add chopped onion and cook until translucent.
Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
Add wine, basil, salt, red pepper, tomatoes, and tomato paste.
Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium low and cook for 30 minutes. Serve over pasta.
