Scones
These are best with a touch of jam or honey. Make sure your butter is extremely cold and do not knead the dough more than 5 times.
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 Tablespoon baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon granulated sugar
- ⅓ cup unsalted butter cubed and placed in the refrigerator
- 1 cup whipping cream
Preheat oven to 375°.
Combine flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
Using a pastry blender or fork, cut in the cold butter until crumbly.
Add whipping cream and stir with a silicone spoon just until moistened.
Place dough on a lightly floured surface and knead it 5 times.
Roll dough out into ½" thickness and using a round cutter, cut 12 scones.
Place on a silicone mat on a baking sheet and bake at 375° for 15 minutes or until lightly browned.
