Marinara Sauce – #1

This pasta sauce is great with Baked Ziti or over your favorite pasta.

Servings 5 cups

Ingredients
  

  • ½ onion finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 Tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 28 oz. cans Italian plum tomatoes with basil chopped in the food processor
  • 2 Tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 Tablespoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 2 bay leaves

Instructions
 

  • Place onion in a dutch oven over medium heat with olive oil and cook until onions are translucent.    
  • Add the garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
  • Add tomatoes, lemons juice, Italian seasoning, and bay leaves.
  • Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cooking for 30 minutes.  Discard bay leaves and serve sauce over pasta.
