This is a delicious cake that is perfect for Thanksgiving morning, or anytime you have company over and want something that will feed a crowd.
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1-8oz. package creek cheese, softened
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup butter
Beat butter and cream cheese at medium speed of an electric mixer until creamy. Gradually add sugar, beating at medium speed until light and fluffy. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating just until the yellow disappears. Stir together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Add alternately with milk, ending with flour mixture, beating at low speed just until blended. Stir in vanilla. Pour batter into a greased 13″ x 9″ pan. Combine remaining flour and sugar in a bowl. Cut in 1/4 cup butter. Sprinkle over the top of the cake. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let cool for 20 minutes before serving.
