Gingerbread 2

IMG_3642I have a few favorite Gingerbread recipes.  I love this one because of all the spices!


1/3 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/3 cup molasses
1 egg
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
2/3 cup milk

Beat granulated sugar and butter at medium speed of an electric mixer for 5 minutes.  Add molasses and egg, beating well.  Combine flour, ginger, baking soda, nutmeg, salt, and cloves in a bowl.  Add alternately with milk, beginning and ending with flour mixture.  Pour into an 8″ greased square baking dish.  Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes.  Cool.
